Just relax and enjoy it.īellevue Beach, Copenhagen (photo: lukestehr) Bellevue Beach, Copenhagen This is a very “anything goes” kinda place where you don't have to worry about having an Adonis body. The beach itself is a little rocky, so you won't' be playing any volleyball.īut head straight to the wooden deck where a bar is split across two levels and mingle with the mixed LGBT crowd. In fact, in this town of around 20,000 people, you won't find a gay watering hole at all.īut keep your eyes peeled, and you'll' notice that local gay Italians flock to Gallipoli in the summer months for its rugged beauty.Īnd the beach where the gay community congregates is called Mako. The small town of Gallipoli in Puglia, Italy, is a prime example of this. When you think of gay beaches, you probably imagine all-night parties and music blaring out over the seafront, but this isn't' the case for all gay-friendly coastal hotspots. You won't' miss it thanks to the abundance of guys wearing, well, nothing at all. This is officially a nudist beach, and the end section is gay. In the evening time, there is no shortage of gay bars to entertain you, and in the daytime, you can sleep off your hangover on the rays of Es Cavallet beach. Es Cavallet, Ibizaįor the perfect blend of parties and sunshine, Ibiza is always the place to be, and this island attracts thousands of gay revelers looking for a good time each year in its summer season. Here are my favorite gay beaches you shouldn't' miss in Europe. It might be chilly now, but summertime will be here before you know it, so it's' time to get planning your European summer beach break. While gay culture has always thrived in cosmopolitan cities like London and Berlin, sometimes a gay-boy needs to get away from it all and enjoy a little beach time as well. The hills are very rocky (you wont get a bike over them unless you are one of the mad Spanish boys who like to show off on their dirt bikes) and the trains run past the tracks at 130km per hour.Sun, sea, and sand are the cornerstones of travel for many people, and the gay community is no different. You can either walk by the train tracks of over the mountain hills to get to the Gay Beach.

But it is well worth it!Ī word of caution. If you decide to walk, it will take you approximately 50 minutes to get there. A taxi to the L’Atlantida disco costs around €10, but you will then need to finish the journey on foot, which takes about 10 minutes. You can get to both of these beaches by bike, on foot or by taxi. Be sure to look in every nook and cranny as you never know what you might find!

Its popularity is in the large forest behind the train tracks, which are full of gay men looking for sex during the summer. It also has a small bar, however the pebbles on this beach make it very uncomfortable. The second beach, Playa Del Muerto, is exclusively gay. There is a beach bar serving a wide range of snacks and drinks. It is a mixed beach, a little bit pebbly for our taste, but worth a look. The first of the beaches is about 10 minutes walk past the L’Atlantida disco.

If you prefer to tan allover, away from the gaze of the nosey tourists (who do bring cameras by the way) and you feel like a brisk walk, then make the journey to the nudist beach just beyond the Terramar Hotel. Time: 10 Minute Taxi to L’Atlantida disco (€10) and 10 minute walk, or 50 minutes walk from the centre of Sitges.
